The New Haberdashery Closet is Open!
This morning we were proud to open the shiny new Haberdashery Closet here at the studio. Here’s me cutting a huge purple ribbon to officially open the doors!
I arrived on site really early to do the last minute preparation including sweeping the car park and washing the doors!
Customers started arriving at the new shop well before the 10am opening at our Studio
As soon as the doors were open, customers flocked inside and we welcomed them with refreshments and floor to ceiling ribbons!
They enjoyed cloudy lemonade and mini cupcakes from Wiltshire based Lula Loves
The bespoke cake stand had been made using our rustic spools
I loved the detailing on the cupcakes, dressed with pretty ribbon flags
We were lucky to have Celia Lacy from LincUpLive with us, who managed to slot us in her very busy schedule to live blog the event
During the opening we reached over 164,000 impressions on Twitter!
The Haberdashery Closet was packed with customers and some had come as far as Wakefield
Sarah is here serving Tracy from Leonards Interiors
For weeks we have been busy sourcing new ribbons and trims to fill our new shop
and I couldn’t resist these luxurious papers too
Despite the busy event, I managed to squeeze in a quick glass of bubbly with Vicky from Lula Loves
We all had a super day at Jane Means HQ and here we are enjoying a tipple to celebrate the long awaited opening
The Haberdashery Closet will be open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am-1pm, so feel free to pop in!
Congratulations! It looks amazing. I only wish I lived nearer although that might be dangerous with so many gorgeous ribbons for sale!! Everything looks so pretty. Louise x
Looks fabulous, beautiful and so much fun! Well done!! xx
It’s wonderful to see pictures of your opening day, and all your beautiful ribbon! Every town and city should have a Haberdashery Closet like this.
Oh wow, this looks so amazing!
Congratulations! What a wonderful place to visit x
I have made quite a few of these for my three daughters and some as gifts too. The degisn is so beautifully simple, it allows the fabric to really shine. I’ve even managed to make a few from lovely fabrics that were heavily reduced in price, so each skirt only cost about $2 to make!So many possibilities for embellishing too: ribbon, applique, pockets, buttons, beads, lace peeking out from under the hem.
